For many millennia some of our ancestors kept a record of the passage of time on buffalo robes. They noted the seasons and important events. The robes were used as a guide to pass on knowledge from generation to generation by skilled storytellers. |

2007 SCIC HighlightsJanuary-Conducted a series of Indian Lore merit badge classes for Native American Boy Scouts.
February-ICE Festival Grant Award Notification
March-Co-hosted author Dr. “Babe” Wilson lecture at Cabrillo College with the Hodaten Wellness Group.
June-Hosted 2nd Intertribal Gathering and Youth Powwow.
August-Hosted Volunteer Beach BBQ and picnic.
September-Co-hosted Buffalo Field Campaign fundraiser with the Leonard Peltier Support Group of Northern California.
October-Co-hosted author Dr. “Babe Wilson lecture at Cabrillo College with the Hodaten Wellnness Group.
December-Co-sponsored holiday parade float with Native TANF. Co-hosted a Native American Community Winter Feast with Native TANF. |
