Ř Gathering Planning Committee Meetings: This group usually meets the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 PM, at the Native TANF Office.

Ř SCIC Board Meetings:  The SCIC Board meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM, at the Native TANF Office.

Ř SCIC General Meetings:  The SCIC holds a general meeting for all members and the public on the third Sunday of each month at 5:00 PM, at the Native TANF Office.

Ř 06/21/08 -  Our 3rd Annual Intertribal Gathering and Youth Powwow will be held from 10 AM to 9:00 PM –Live Oak Elementary School, Santa Cruz, CA.

For many millennia some of our ancestors kept a record of the passage of time on buffalo robes.  They noted the seasons and important events.  The robes were used as a guide to pass on knowledge from generation to generation by skilled storytellers.

2007 SCIC Highlights

January-Conducted a series of Indian Lore merit badge classes for Native American Boy Scouts.

 

February-ICE Festival Grant Award Notification

 

March-Co-hosted author Dr. “Babe” Wilson lecture at Cabrillo College with the Hodaten Wellness Group.

 

June-Hosted 2nd Intertribal Gathering and Youth Powwow.

 

August-Hosted Volunteer Beach BBQ and picnic.

 

September-Co-hosted Buffalo Field Campaign fundraiser with the Leonard Peltier Support Group of Northern California.

 

October-Co-hosted author Dr. “Babe Wilson lecture at Cabrillo College with the Hodaten Wellnness Group.

 

December-Co-sponsored holiday parade float with Native TANF.

Co-hosted a Native American Community Winter Feast with Native TANF.
